Final Reflection.

I decided to do my reflection here as I did not have enough room in my document.

Overall, this process has been amazing. I have learnt a lot throughout this process. One of the main things I learnt is how to take charge and lead a team. Before, I would be content sitting and listening while someone else leads.

​

I have always enjoyed social innovation. I love the idea of solving community issues with the community. I’ve always believed in involving the people affected by the issue as they will be the ones who will see this project through. Creating a solution without them tends to fail more often than not.

​

Another thing I learnt is to have confidence in myself. I have always been an anxious person and worry too much about if I am bothering someone. During the interview stage, I felt incredibility anxious as I did not want to approach other students. I felt like I would be interrupting them while they were busy. But once I began talking with other students, I began to realize they were willing to help because it has an important issue. Additionally, if they didn’t want to talk to me, it had nothing to do with me.

I will be incorporating social innovation into my final dissertation as I will be working with lectures, the people affected by my research question.
